Jenna told me she knew from the first moment that if someone would be there to photograph her birth, it would be me. It was very special to hear this and eventually to be able to make her dreams come true. I prepared for this home birth well in advance. Together with the family, we went through their wishes in detail regarding both the photos and the birth video. We actually planned a lot together, like the perfect lighting with the candles and what to wear in the tub during birth.
This home birth was attended by two midwives, the birthing parent's own mother, the eldest child, partner Aleksi, and me as the birth photographer. I arrived at the birth bubble a little less than two hours before the baby was born, yet the family still received over 200 finished birth photos as well as a complete birth video.

Everything could be discussed openly beforehand, and I was able to share many of my wishes. During the birth itself, Pinja took care of the visuals and lighting, and she treated the other members of the birth team with genuine respect and love."
